Zen is alive and well in Fresno

Saturday, December 8, 2012, marks the opening of the Zen Center of Fresno (ZCF) at 922 North Van Ness in the Tower District.

ZCF and its members are dedicated to the teaching and practice of Zen Buddhist meditation and Zen as a path to living an awakened, compassionate, useful, and happy life. The community, its events and teachers, are open to all, and are supported by donations from members and visitors.

Regular sessions are scheduled for Saturday mornings from 9-11 and Monday evenings from 6:30-8:30. Experienced meditators and beginners are all welcome. Meditation instruction is available for anyone who needs it.

Central Valley Zen Foundation

The Central Valley Zen Foundation (CVZF) is a non-profit religious organization devoted to the teaching and practice of Zen Buddhism. The Foundation is funded by tax deductible donations and currently supportsfour Zen practice groups in California’s Central Valley: Empty Nest Zen Group in North Fork, Valley Heartland Zen Group in Modesto, Zen Center of Fresno, and Modesto Zen Buddhist Recovery Group. CVZF was founded by Abbess Myoan Grace Schireson.
